Ok - I just put my money down on a Black 05 Rune with Chrome wheels - I could not pass up the incentives to move these beauties. Anyway there are only a couple things that could potentially give me a case of buyers remorse.

I like to ride on multi day trips - which requires carrying my STUFF. Today I ride a VTX and use a cruiser bag for 90% of my gear - else it gets bungeed onto the sissy bar - this would be - extra jacket, bed roll or tent or both.

The Rune looks like it is one up - has anyone made any specific mods to take gear? If so what mods have you made? I was thinking of putting a Corbin Dual Tourer seat on it and use the second seat and back rest to place the cruiser bag - but what about bungee placements? any on the Rune that would not scratch the paint?

Also is the tank steel? I use a tank bag that is magnetic - them magnets don't work too well on fiberglass.

and lastly - foot placement - I will need to stretch out now and then and was wondering if any one put Kury pegs on that engine guard? If so - basic install or a PITA?

Thanks,

Andy

Well, no one makes a bag set for the Rune yet...notice I said yet. If you check the forums for Rune Bags, you'll see what I'm talking about.

I'm going ahead, slowly but surely with these since it's all out of pocket to have these made, after lots of prototyping and getting feedback from the other Rune Riders. Model building is starting this week (in clay by a guy who was a designer and modeler for GM 15 years). I'm hoping to have some pics of that for the American Heat weekend in Palm Springs.

So, although there aren't any bags for the Rune, there will be. I'm starting with a bigger model that holds lots of stuff, or a full-size helmet on both sides (that means 2 helmets), and then eventually coming out with a smaller one. I'm planning on using Ghost Brackets for the mounting system. http://www.ghostbrackets.com

edit: And the tank is steel...

Great thanks for the input. I think I will definately go with the Corbin Dual tourer. They make great seats generally and I think this will for for carrying my existing luggage :-)

I had a Corbin Rumble seat for loading my T-Bag on. Worked fine for weekend trips. Also added a National Cycle Switchblade windshield and a BreakAway throttle lock.

If you do the Corbin Dual you'll probably get in trouble without also adding the RIVCO passenger pegs - just in case some little cutie wants a ride. 8)

i have a sport tech quick release windshield
rivco mounts and pegs
a corbin fast gun with a back rest.

I traveled 600 miles carrying all my stuff in a pack back. it worked well for me.
I also seen some tbag brand t bags that are way cool and are availble in a wide range of sizes. I do need to suggest the tbag brand tbags. I bought a small one for around town and day trips and it is great. It even has a built in rain cover..

Most tank bags will also turn into backpacks for carrying around off the bike. (I took one like this on a 2K mile trip, worked well)(note trip was on a full dress bike, so I just kept maps, cash, cell phone, etc in the tank bag)

Has anyone tried a Bronson Bag on the bars? This roll type bag looks big enough but I have never seen one in person.
