Aa I walked out the back door last evening, intending to jump on the Rocket and head to a Valk Chapter meeting (sacriledge, I know, but the R3 was out and ready to run), I almost tripped over a box from Ultimate Seats!!!
Naturally, I parked the Rocket and pulled the Rune out, swapped out the seat, dropped the backrest into place, and hit the road. Put just over 100 miles on her, and loved every minute of it!
So thanks again for helping me out. Making the investment in the seat was much easier after actually getting to ride an Ultimate seat first.

Phyllis,
Glad to be of some assistance, I hope to be getting a fresh batch or shiney new side covers soon, I will let you know when they arrive.

Yea you've got the best seat on the market, you can ride many many miles in complete comfort. And it looks great too! 2700 miles in 2 days and I could of gone another 3 or 4 miles. It does everything I need. ie: With the back rest I carry one big bag strapped to the rest. Can't take everything I want but I can sure take everything I need! Maybe turn your Original seat into a bar stool. Good luck and good riding. dog

Truthfully, I never liked the appearance of the Ultimate seat, but after the trip to Erwin on the stock seat, it certainly grew on me!! I ordered it with the red stitching to go with the red pinstriping on the Rune, and it looks pretty good. But I'll hang onto the stock seat anyway.
I like your taste in bikes. We agree on three! I've spent a few days on a Bonny, it's a nice ride, but like a friend told me "it's got about 80 horsepower .... less than you're used to."

Yep, I got a package from you. Meant to tell you but got tangled up in preparations to leave.
Not installed yet, on the to-do list for when I get home from NY.
Thanks again!!

Phyllis,
Have a good time, are you renting a bike there or bringing one from your stable.

My sister and I flew in Thursday. She's not a rider, she's actually pretty spooked by the bikes. Although she finally did give up and sit on the Rocket in her garage while waiting for a car service to pick us up and take us to the airport. It was the only seat available.
Hoping to rent a bike, but the info I found on line before I left home doesn't look promising ....
Any one out there know anything about renting a bike in/near NYC?
