capacity of the bike

Does anyone know why is the capacity of the bike so low (276 lbs), it is a big bike and im sur that some guys weight close to the max capacity. So can`t be the brake system can it be because of the suspension swing arm the frame etc how did they come up with this number ?

How do they come up with this number???? most probably a safety factor of at least 2x to avoid liability... ...:money1:

The biggest problem with manufacturer specifications is trying to figure out if they originated in the engineering department or the legal department. The former are useful; the latter are virtually worthless. Unfortunately, the current environment forces most specifications to originate in the legal department, so it's difficult to determine a product's true capabilities.

when I first got my rune I weighed 290, and the bike handles fabulously, now I'm down to 250 and the is no differnce to the handleing. I did set the rear suspension to the stiffest setting though.

I weigh in at just under 260 lbs and haven't adjusted anything on the bike. Handles the same weather it's just me or me and my girlfriend who weighs in at about 120 lbs.
