Hi to all Rune owners.

I Have had my Rune for 4 months now and have managed 1300 Miles so far. (it had 1700 Miles when i got it second hand)

I love the look of the bike as it was disigned, with the single seat and no screen but after doing a couple of 350Mile runs on the bike, mostly on Motorways 80mph plus,i am now considering putting a screen on, I have looked through the old posts and reviewed the comments for and against but am still going to opt for the Windvest Screen from Hondaline direct.

What i wondered is could anyone out there send me or post some pictures showing how the screen mounts as i really do not want to spoil the look of the front end too much, also is it as quick to fit and remove as people have psoted? what stays on the bike when the screen is off (mounting hardware?) as i would only fit it for longer journeys.

Thanking you in advance

Well you have certainly convinced me, time to see if my account with Honda Line Direct is still active and spend some $$ :D

Thanks for the reply, appreciate the assistance.

I Did read the feedback / review's on the item on the Honda Line site guess the person who put the negative feedback hasn't got a Rune anyway!!

Depending on where the handlebar starts to bend back, you may have some minor clearance problems with the Rune's upper handlebar clamp.

Due to manufacturing tolerances, I think some bars bend back a little sooner than other bars. My bars start to bend almost as soon as they leave the clamp; Tim's look like they stay straight for a little longer. Because of this, I can't get as much clearance as Tim has between the WindVest clamps and the upper handlebar clamp, and my clamps aren't quite perpendicular to the straight part of the bar. In short, Tim's WindVest clamps look better.

Thanks Al
I will have a closer look at my bars and do a comparison, am working overseas for next month so will have to wait till i get home before i order :( It did say on the Honda Line Direct site that the Windvest was only available for forward bars????

But its not going to be bike weather in the UK in November so just have to keep it polished till the next sunny day.

as i have said on this site MANY times....the ad on HDL is INCORRECT. the Windvest mounts on BOTH forward and rear bars. I know, i've done it. i had forward bars the first 5 months i had my Rune in 03'....with the Windvest on it. Then i changed to rear bars and put the Windvest on there.

sherry has always had rear bars on her Rune...and she too has a Windvest.

bottom line, Windvest will mount on forward or rear bars.

I Have a sport tech. It is quick release. They dont have an application for a rune. But I put one on my bike and like the quick release feature. I had to modify ( no big deal) the brackets on the windshield. (mada a minor bend

So tell me...where do I get a really good radio that I can carry in my pocket or on the bike with a really good earpiece so I can listen to the radio as I am riding and easily change channels as I travel from region to region at warp speed??? I am particularly interested in a radio that will hold an AM station similar to the way a car will hold it...Mosyt of the portables I have tried, lose the station when I go around a corner...I am a news junkie and love AM radio....Anybody have any suggestions...for radios???

Don't know about the radio, but the Shure E2c ear plugs are the best, I use them on the transalp, they go in the ear canal, and block the road noise and I hear the music fine. cost about 70-100 bucks. Always on ebay.
