According to there news letter and websight they are due to be out soon..
That statement has been on there for at least 5 months. I had ocassion to call them 2 months ago and was told they would out soon.
They are suppose to be Fleetliner bags, which they have for other makes and models... I would think that they would have had them out for the summer :?:
My conspericy therory is they just may have put that out there to discourage Rune Giant??? 8)

i think i agree with your theory. i can find NOTHING about them on their board now. Months ago....they kept saying soon....soon....soon.

but now, i see NOTHING about them. i heard June. Maybe they were just trying to influence Rune_Giant....like trying to influence him NOT to pursue his model? Don't know.

I'm not probably really interested in having bags.....as i think ANY bags will destroy the look of the bike. But....I am curious........... 8)

Interesting theory. As you can tell, it only influenced me to get mine done, which you can see the models of in the Rune bag update thread.

The nice thing about them is they'll be pretty strong as well as light, so you can put some weight into them without worrying about "well the bags weigh 20 pounds each, and that means I can only put in so much more".

I've seen Corbin's other Fleetliner bags...not impressed.

I was at Corbin 2 weeks ago, Two of us with Runes, we bought 2up seats made to fit. I saw the owners Rune in the back with bags on it. They were not finished yet, it seemed like a long way to go!!! Sorry I had my camera phone and never took a picture  I am planning on going back for another back rest. I'll see what I can do

Do they look like the other fleetliner bags?

what i really would want as far as bags go is aquick release hidden mount.
Some thing that i could put what ever kind of bag on and take it off
quickly to retain the the look i like.
much like my sport tec windshield( most of u at the ralley have seen it),
on and off in seconds with no tools and no noticable hardware remaining..
cost is an issue as well. if these bags get to expensive i can always put on a hitch and paint my bushtec a neutral color. that would solve the tw up problem as well 8)
Also, I have seen a stratoliner with the full fleetliner set up, and i think it looks great in person, better than the photos.
I traveled with a back pack to erwin. the adverse aspect for me was a: pain to have on while off the bike, b: no way to sucure it C; it kept me sitting back alitttle to far aas to make the handle bars a more of a reach and made pushing the bike in corners more difficult, even with just a partial load.
Larry had tbag brand tbag(a small onea) that I thought that was cool and I ought that for short day trips. they do offer a larger one a may consider..
another thing from the rally i noticed if just how nice some of the acessories looked in person as to uppossed to what i seen in photos.
namely the windvest. i just did not like it until i seen it . it is a very quality piece, it just doesnt photograph well. also the rivco pegs work great and are easy on and off(mine are off) and are quality piece as well.

well, back to bed, sorry if this is rambling..

I've been waiting for rune_giant to finish his bags, and because too many cooks can ruin the meal, I've avoided commenting. So far, things are progressing well, but one comment that seems to crop up is that cost is an issue. Here's my 2 cents on cost:

For me, cost isn't a big issue if the bags look right; the hardware is first rate; fit and finish are impeccable. Obviously, I'm not going to pay $5000 for a set of bags, but I'm also not going to pay $1000 for a set of bags if they aren't up to Rune standards. $1000 for first-rate bags would be great, but if I had to pay $2000 to $3000 to get something that looks like it belongs on the bike, that's what I would do.

My plan is to stay around $1000 painted, and probably a couple hundred less for unpainted bags (for those who have custom painted Runes..it's only fair). Fit and finish are my top priority of course. I want these, when closed to look as seamless as possible, and be as smooth as possible with no external hardware showing. As for a quick release system, that's last on my list for now, though I'm looking into it. Otherwise, mounting them shouldn't take more than 30 minutes tops. The problem with a quick release is that creates a good enough gap between the bags and the fender, which makes them look like an add-on even more. I have some ideas for an internal quick release, the only issue being once you have them off, you're without signals, since the bag mounts, quick release or not, where the signals are.
Right now I'm searching high and low for the perfect latch and lock system, that is either very low profile, or completely hidden (maybe magnetic). There's a big fastener and hardware show coming up mid-November in Las Vegas that I plan on attending to see what's the latest and greatest, though I will have a plan B for something out now so we can be ready for orders at the end of this month.

For Canadians, the cost will be $2000-3000, and come with a free jar of mayonaisse.

Give me a nice back rest with a small rack and I am good to go.....$1000 is too streep for me....sorry

If rune_giant can deliver the bags he describes for $1000, trust me, they will be a steal.

And like I said, I'll sell them for a couple hundred less (or so) without paint.

OK...but still with me having to paint the bags, it still will be too costly. IMHO.

I will wait to see what the final product looks like before I say or do anything.

I do appreciate your effort and time in trying to accommodate us
