I test rode a Rune this afternoon. This was nothing like my GL1800!
Nice cool machine, without the clunk into second gear.
Is $19,000 for a new 2004 with chrome package a good deal these days?
I tried to post a message a few days ago regarding a rune on Ebay that had a luggage rack on it, but it never posted. Was looking for the mfg of the rack. Once bags are avialable for the Rune, either through Rune Giant or Corbin, I'm game. Now to chose between a Corbin Trimtab, or a Windvest/Cee Bailey combo. Decisions decisions. I love it. Thanks to everyone on this forum that gave me (unbeknownst to them) great advise and information.

It's very hard to tell anyone lately whether or not the deal they're being offered is good or not since flucuations in price these days have been nearly impossible to follow. If you love the bike, feel the dealer is reputable and fair and the price seems reasonable to you, then go for it and don't look back. The worst thing one can do is continue to watch pricing right after making their purchase only to be disappointed when they see one for less only days after spending all this money on their bike. The best advice I can give you is that a good deal isn't only about dollars and cents. Good luck!!!

seems good, I go by the Ohio dealer on cycle trader, 17.5K for 04 spec 47, 19.5k 04 chome and 20.1K for crate fresh 05. Now I just need to find a local dealer who will match.

Did you find on still on the floor or is the dealer going to order it for you?

Bikes on the floor. I added up my option wishlist and will most likely have to spread that one out a bit! Biggest decision nis whether to go with the windvest or the trimtab. Both have good and bad comments made on this forum. I'll just have to give it a go without testing either of them. I'm just wondering whether the Windvest with a Cee Bailey shield, or the Trimtab will give the best protection in the rain. I'm in the Seattle area and ride daily year round.

Our local dealer in San Diego just got in a Burple one, and it's around $19,500 (well, a little less), '04 no chrome, fresh from the Honda warehouse. Seems the prices for California bikes are more than for non-CA bikes. Anyone know why? It'd be nice to get the prices like the out of state dealers are offering, but the dealer is going as low as they can.

Black Cherry. Which is fine for me. I actually like black the best as nothing beats the look of black and chrome, but it's just too maintenance intense for me to keep it looking good. I also haven;t had a good experience with Honda illusion paints. Too soft a finish.

I will never admit it to my "fast black" valkyrie, but I do like the black cherry color best.

If you decide to pass on the deal, please let me know where it is, I am planning to buy a chrome black cherry, rear set bars, this week.

I almost bought one in Feb, and the best deal I could find in the country was in Spokane for an 04, chrome, rear set, 20K out the door. So 19K looks good.
