Rear Wheel

Does anyone know what the rear wheel is coated with ?? Is it a paint or powder coated ?? My Rune is at the local Honda dealer, they scratched the wheel and are telling me its a paint and they can have it fixed. Anyone had to deal with this same issue and if so what was the outcome ?? Thanks td

i think it is like a paint? When they scratched my wife's Rune's front rim, they replaced it..............

most oe alloy rims on cars are painted. there are some vendors that repair them..

Another dealer trying to remove a rear wheel without following the service manual?

I recently had fresh tires and rear brakes installed.

Mechanic didn't take rear fender off like he was supposed to so my rear wheel got scratched up pertty good, The manager had his best detail guy try to buff out the scratches and that made it worse, Took off some of the clear coat.
Final outcome, The manager agreed to replace wheel.

seems like a common practice... unless I have no other choice, I dont take any of my bikes to a dealer for service...

Every dealer should have a step-by-step booklet to show them exactly how to remove every piece right... Makes me wonder, do they read.
