When that Rune arrived at the museum I called them and asked someone to go and write down the Vin Number, which they did, and it is on our Vin List.

Do you remember which Vin# it is, so I can mark it as being at the museum. And whats with that 125MPH top speed I know I have had mine up to 115 (unadjusted Rune MPH) and I never got it into 5th gear. So top speed had to be over 125

Rev limiter kicks in at 135. Honda 5% makes that 130.

Then if the Speedo healer eliminates the rev limiter. how fast can she go??

As far as I know the Speedo healer only corrects your mph readout, doesn't do anything to your rev limiter. If wrong I'm sure someone will correct me.

This is from Ken's Post

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Gents. I just installed the speedohealer and it works great!!
I had to "slow down" my speedometer by 5.5 MPH at 60 MPH.
You take off the fuel tank (but dont disconnect the fuel lines, just the speedometer)
And then find the speed sensor connector. Put in the adaptor connector and go through the calibration procedure.
I always knew my speedometer was overly optimistic. Now it agrees with my stopwatch when going 60 (1 minute miles), and the GPS. Before they were way off.
Another cool thing: when I pushed the highest speed attained button..... it read 110 MPH. That would have been about 118 MPH before calibrating. And guess what? The top end rev limiter seems to be gone...
I will let you know for sure when I get mine installed

He may well be correct but since he obviously was well below his rev limiter, on the top end anyhow, how would he know if he eliminated it?

The Rev limiter kicks in in all gears. When it kicks in on me is usually in 1st & 2nd gear. he probably noticed it there.
****JUST A SIDE NOTE*****
HEY ttip, this is my 200th post....since July 2006, I'm trying to catch up with you.

It is amazing that out of three colors, guess which one gets selected for the prestigous museum?.....unless of course there were no CBC or IB's around at the time....
Now I need to be ready for comments like, "is that the same one I say in the museum?", and I can answer, kind of ....., mine is a close brother :bow1:
Yea nice museum and they put a non painted Rune in there! Whats with that? The world knows about primer colors. Is it an all Black Community? **** I might get fired!! "Black is Beautiful" "Checks in the Mail" and bla bla bla! Thanks for the pic. It's a museum piece no matter the color or attempt of a color............Thnx. dog

So are you guys aware that your California bikes are 2 pounds heavier than all the other bikes. Not only is that Ick Blue slowing your bike down with greater wind resistance but you've got the extra weight of the California crap holding you up, plus the emission crap is slowing your exhaust. So I beg to differ about which bike goes faster...
please in the future get your facts straight before making such a boast. :pepper1:
"incoming".....i beg to differ with ya jakesboss,,,with me on my RUNE she is really handicapped.....hehehe.....

....and there were TWO runes in the showroom. one stock, one custom. the custom one had a unique rear fender...very nicely done....and a solid chrome rear wheel...with a WORKING spinner.
i'll post pics when i can. i can't see Stewie's two posted pics, so don't know if he posted the custom black rune...or the stock black rune they have on display?
anyway, it was WAY COOL!!!!
