hi everybody . me and my friend just bought our runes . i got the blue and he got the candy. we looked for about 1 year and this was the very best deal we could find . i already have picked mine up . my friend picks his up in the next week or two. i have some questions on where to get some parts . im a small guy at 5'5'' . and man this is a big bike. i need the pullback bars . does the cables need to be changed? i found the bars for $148 . the dealer wanted $490. how about the cables i also want a two up seat . is corbin the only one ? when i rode from sacremnto to san jose i really needed to stretch out .i noticed rivco makes a foward bracket . does this work good?
passenger footrests what is the best looking and fuctional set available?
and last but not least . windshields ? windvest or memphis shades any other choices? please somebody we spent so long looking for a rune online . can you help??

Welcome to the board, you’re sure to get all the opinions you can handle from us.
Yes the cables need to be changed, but I'll leave that to the ones who have already done theirs
Here are my preferences
Windvest clear 16 x 16
Corbin rumble seat
Rivco spider pegs for the front
Road Warrior for the rear
Here is the info for the rear pegs

It took apx 5 mins to put them on. They bolt onto the 2 rear bolts of the swing arm cover
The wife tried them out and she liked the feel of them (she's 5'-2" sitting on a Corbin rumble seat)
I really like the way they follow the lines of the side covers when they are up
Check out this thread about them

congrats on your purchase........
you did i see get the best color......you will understand the color issue later.thats an ongoing poke of fun between us RUNERS.......
now i have the corbin 2 up dual tour......ultmate makes a dual seat for the RUNE also....the rear bars only give you 1 inch rear.....you will be better off to adjust the bars up to a more up right setting......they set them low at the dealership,,,,most of the time to the low stop.....that has you leaning forward....that will probably help alot.....when you get a dual tour seat that also will have you sitting more forward,,,,,,the stock seat and the stock setting of the bars are opposite seat leans you back and the bars lean you forward........adjust bars first before you buy the rear bars.......the brake line will have to be changed with the rear bars.memphis shade fats shield and lowers......great bang for ya buck..and is also quick release.......
rivco passenger floorboards are great,,wife loves them.....and rivco makes a highway pegs also.......that bolt on to v/covers...it makes a great two up bike.....and still can put the stock seat back on in seconds and go solo.....just flip passenger floorboards up and go......
and welcome to the most knowledgeable board on the net....these guys and gals here are very sharp and helpful.....
again welcome................you will get along fine with everybody......they are a great bunch.....

Let me know when your coming up to Roseville to pick up your friends Rune and NK BRKR and I will try to meet you guys at the dealership.
We have a friend in SJ with an IB, he too is short...he took his seat somewhere in SJ and had it reworked moving the backrest 2in. further towards the tank and the V part flattened for a passenger...it looks good.
I think you have to change the Brake and clutch reservoir hoses to a longer hose...I think the throttle cables are fine for the rear set bars.
I have rear set bars and love the look and feel. I'm 6ft tall and the forward bars feel like I'm leaning too far forward...get the rear bars.
I bought the Rivco spider mount hiway pegs and love them for cruising.
www.hondadirectline.com (http://www.hondadirectline.com) has a better price than Rivco.
As far as winshields and 2 up seats you would be asking the wrong guy since I am a Rune purist and hate to see it changed into something different...but alot of the other guys can help you with that info.
What yr and color did your friend get?

My friend Jimmy in SJ got the pegs above that Skibum posted and he likes them...dont have to drill a big hole in your side covers like the floorboard by Kuryakyn (I THINK).
yeah thats a great deal.....i have been two upping on the rune for about a year and a half......makes a great two up bike......

Congrats and yes I went from forward to rear set. All that is needed is the longer front brake line.
Welcome,I like to keep "everything simple" lol. dog

REPLACING THE BRAKELINE . IS THIS A CUSTOM CABLE OR A STOCK ONE. ANY PART # SOME ONE CAN GIVE ME . HOW MUCH?

I dont think its a brake cable but the hose from the clutch reservoir...I may be wrong but looking at it that is the shortest. I think all the ofthers are long enough. Order the stock cable/hose for a NRX1800EB when you find out which exact one you need.

It is the break line. You can use the stock line for the reset bars from Honda. I think it is about $35.00 (+/-).
