These are liquid players I'm wearing...awesome glasses About $140 a pair for polarized. Come with different finishes and lenses. They have blue ones that match your bike...

Hey Stew, I got a pair of the Panoptics. The ones I got have the removable eye pieces (foam). The removable eye cups don't snap in tight enough and when you get your speed up they will float around on your face. I never wear them anymore. maybe the cheaper panoptixs without the removable eyecups would be better. JMHO. i don't care for them. Now I do have a pair of Birdz eyewear that I wear all the time. I think they were less then 30 bucks on ebay but they fit good, no air behind them and the clarity is great. I have always liked Oakleys but I like the Birdz better at a fraction of the cost. Hey, did you ever enter your bike in the show???

Glad it turned out good for ya. There'll be another show. Good luck on the glasses. I buy online and they never seem to be what I'm looking for when I get them. I do like the liquid link above tho. Some good looking glasses.

All of our Rune crew here wear them and wouldnt wear anything else...theyre awesome. I put a pair for nite around the back of my neck and jacket holds them in place ...I wear the day glasses and when it gets dark I swap them.

Even though Oakley says Rx doesnt mean its simple. Oakley themselves does not do RX themselves but refer you to your optomotrist. I took my $270 pair of glasses to my opto and he told it would cost $350 to have the lenses made for the glasses....sorry i'm not paying $520 for RX sunglasses. If you choose one of their RX frames then its not a big deal but getting RX for their sunglass frames is.
I wear contacts with my Liquids.

Interesting. I bought mine, took them to an optometrist who then sent them directly to Oakley to get them filled, using Oakley's optics. I could have had the opto do it for less, but with no guarantee and inferior lenses. A week later they came back with Oakley stamped lenses, and a nice new case to boot. The advantage of Oakley doing it (and it costing $125 if I remember correctly), is they're guaranteed for life, or until I need a new prescription. So if they break (they're shatter proof) or get scratched, I get them filled by Oakley for free.

I'd wear contacts, but I really hate having stuff in my eyes.

What frames do you have? I find that interesting...If it was only $125 how does your opto get paid? Let me know so I can follow up on this because Oakley sent us to one of there outlet stores who then referred us to an optomitrist....so we went to our own. Maybe I can send them to your opto with the RX and have him do it.

I have the original X metals. They are big, and heavy, and they don't make them anymore. They replaced them with the Romeo's. I bought mine in Austrailia before they were avail here (down on business)

They were higher than all get out to put RX lenses in. hgslayer I don't remember exactly the cost, but I think you on track. Of course they are my primary sunglasses, and I've had them for 7 years, so the cost is getting better every day.

I don't really care for them for riding, at least at hwy speed or above. I hate contacts, not sure how people can stand doing that routinely. I am legal to pass the eye test without glasses, but I figure not wearing them would just be stupid on my part.....

Wires. I'll have to look at the box when I get home as to what model. The optometrist I went to, who was referred by Oakley's website (they were in Horton Plaza), took my prescription, measured my eyes for Oakley, filled out a form and sent them off directly to them. About a week or so later, got the glasses.

Stewie make sure you prdered the foam inserts and tell him to throw in a couple extra nose pieces. When you get the foam inserts use an exacto knife and cut out the clear film leaving the edge that holds the foam so it doesnt distort your vision. I can take a pic later if you need it. Tell the owner you got referred by Runeriders.com... hes probably the one who answers the phone.

Those are some nice looking glasses. So how much to fill a prescription, and do you do that in house or send them to Wiley to get filled?

Hi,

at present j use a polarized full size (no double lens) from Polaris.
the item is similar to climatized (wind cannot disturb eyes)
before j was using a model from Polaroid.
unfortunatly j am no more able to find similar models. too good and too cheap.

j will be in US in a short time and j wish to get a new one. not too costly and if possible polarized
could you suggest to me any model?

ciao from Italy

I wear Oakley Bottlecaps, I bought all five tints to adjust at will.
I had to look it up on Oakley's web site so I could be correct and I read their prescription offer. They claim that their prescription is so perfect thruout the scope of the lens that you will want to order clear lenses for indoor wear.
I wouldn't know as I'm blind in one eye and can't see out of the other!!
Naw, just kidding, just need reading glasses caus' of old age!!!

I'm going to chime in on the riding glass issue again since I spent more than 2 years trying to find just the right pair for riding. Go to any area mall & go into a Sunglass Hut and ask to try on a pair of the Maui Jim Offshores. They have a wrap around lense, incredibly clear visibility, no more watery eyes on the highway, and very comfortable. Retail is about $165 yet you could probably to a bit of research and land a pair for closer to $120. Not sure about fitting them with a prescription though but for a straight off the shelf pair of sunglasses, I honestly don't think these can be beat. BigV
