    Question 2020 Rune Rally

I have no care for a Rune Rally myself, I however would more than likely do as I have in the past and donate item(s) (how many and what will depend on what is left after I sell off my collection of Rune items/parts) to a Rune Rally should one happen. This time if possible and if a Rune Rally happens, it would be better (IMO) if the items were not used as giveaways or as prizes. Instead if the items could be sold to the highest bidder that wants/needs the item, and the funds from the sales were used to pay for drinks and/or food as the group that gathers sees fit.

    SO...

Will there be a 2020 Rune Rally? Only way to know is to ask...…...

While it might be early or not (good for those that like to plan way in advance)...and to find out if there is enough interest for a Rune Rally...........

Is there any interest in a 2020 Rune Rally?

Does the date(s) of a Rune Rally matter if there is one?

Do you have a preference for the location of a Rune Rally if there is one?

    Gotta jump in here...

Thanx 517, for bringing this up as a new thread. There will be a Rune Rally as far as I'm concerned, at least as big as last year's was.

Unfortunately there weren't any other Runes at the 2019 Rally (well, my personal rally) but there were some excellent Rune owners and previous Rune owners (+ friends) on other bikes, who I met up with in Ontario for a few days of riding. I travelled from BC to Quebec (plus side trips) and back over 40 days in August and September; all in Canada.

Whereas the crossing between US and Canada, in both directions, is becoming increasingly onerous, and I have been unreasonably hassled, I am planning to head out for whatever Rune Rally is announced in North America, with the understanding that I will stay in Canada if I get a repeat of past experiences.

Good luck in selling your excess parts 517. Perhaps one day I will find the energy and time to inventory and market the large piles of bits I have as well. Perhaps in the recovery stage of the upcoming recession, people will have the interest and money to reflate the "Rune experience". I hope so...

I might attend if there is one this year....depending on where and when. It's always easier for me to go around a 3 day weekend, as i don't have much vacation anymore like I used to. I've changed jobs twice in the last year and a half....and each time I change....i go back to zero accumulated vacation (plus, the new grand daughter of course takes priority on vacation time!).

But again.....I'd love to see all my old acquaintances .....and some new folks too! The last somewhat formal one was the one Mo RuneRider put on in Arkansas....and it was mighty fun. I miss the old days in Erwin and Hiawassee!

Shala changed jobs recently as well, and has suffered the loss of usable vacation days as a result. That said, we've already begun rounding up the necessary time off to attend the 2020 Valk rally in Ashville this year. It's in June. Shala has mentioned trailering our Yamahas to the event rather than riding our Runes. And while I really enjoy my Yamaha much more in the curves than I enjoy dragging the foot pegs on my Rune through those same curves, I am still undecided which bike to take.

Perhaps other Rune owners could attend that rally as well? We could have our own mini-Rune rally while seeing a TON of Valkyrie friends. Tim and Sherry, having put on Valk rallies in the past, would most certainly be welcomed by many, many, many friends from rallies past.

I'm sure Shala won't have any additional time off during 2020 to attend any three day weekend events very far away. But if everyone wanted to endure the all too often intense Arkansas heat that early September usually brings, not to mention the states many switchback curves, I'd be game to attend a Rune rally closer to MO again, and Shala would prolly be able to join in on the Saturday and Sunday portions too, depending upon her "on call" status that weekend.

Question If a combined Rally works....?

In the past it has been brought up to combine it (maybe it was done one year) with the Wing Ding, which this year is June 30 – July 4, 2020 in Springfield, Missouri. I know a lot of past Rune owners moved to Wings.

I’ll try my best to attend this year, work schedule permitting.

What I’m REALLY excited about is the 2024 20th Anniversary Rune Gathering!!!

    Location and date TBD.
