I just finished a little exhaust mod on the Rune and it sounds much better. I did not totally gut the muffler I only put a small incision in the rear chamber of the canister and cut out a small section of the three outlet pipes. This makes it sound ausome at an idle and very nice going down the road and not so loud it is obnoxious .

Could you post pics or give us more detail on what you did? This sounds like the type of mod that a lot of us would like to do on our Runes.

I ditto some more info on how to do this, I have been happy with my K&N air filter mod. and would love some more throatyness.

Sorry no pics It was just something I decided to do the other day. It only took about 2 1/2 hrs to do. It took the most time trying to decide where to cut not knowing what the muffler look like inside. I guess i just got lucky on the first one.What i did was cut a small hole in the rear chamber approximately 3" square. It is just in front of the tail pipes on top of the mufflers on the back side where it will never be seen except when the pipes are off. Then i cut a small section out of all three little pipes and then welded it back up. Mark
