I took the DRAGNN to it's first HOG fest yesterday. It was a local poker run totally dominated by HD or custom V riders. You guys that don't live here in the midwest probably haven't to deal with the level of HD fever that us midwestern metric riders do. You leave your bike sitting in the wrong place and it will end up over top a bonfire at a hog rally!
Some people liked more than they said, I could tell. So lots of negative comments yesterday and I ask everyone of them if they wanted to run their HD against my rice burner. One said yes, a big guy on a V-Rod!
So my buddy rode down the road a 1/4 mile and parked, we were in front of a old road house out in the middle of no where. Then some
fine drunk young woman came out to be the official starter. She used her shirt as a flag, so she was bare chested. I really didn't need that distraction right then!
The harley riders were going wild, chantin HARLEY HARLEY. That motivated me even more to dust this V-ROD! She dropped the shirt and
off we went. The hd was in front of me for the first 1/16 of a mile or so,
I hit the F%#^@*! rev limiter in 1st and 2nd, but once I hit third I was on that v-rod, I really hammered in 3rd and when I banged 4th I jumped way out in front, never did get to 5th! Beat him buy at least 3 bike lengths!
At the next stop a few hd riders were amazed at the speed of the Rune for it's size.
I had FUN at the SundayBBQ!

Way to go HogSlayer. I should have know. I actually didn't think the Rune could beat a V-Rod. It will be easier for me to take a run with one the next time I'm "confronted." Horse power is slightly less up here at elevation (6,000 ft). But of course it will be less for the other guy too. Harley riders here in the boondocks aren't quite as radical as they are in St. Louis. I still get some grief during these kinds of runs. No one challenges me though. I get lots of comments about "Jap" bikes. I've never been able to figure why a person has to denegrate a whole race of people just to impress someone with how great it is to own a Harley. Anyway, thanks for the story. I'll ride even more proud than I do now, knowing I OWN the road.

Greg,
Now this guy on the v-rod out weighed me by 80-90lbs, I not sure how much the v-rod weighs but I'm thinkin we were pretty close on total weight. Yeah, it's ruff here in the heartland, they're like HD zombies.

I love a "Pork Roast"

HogSlayer, you make us all proud!

On Sunday, at a red-light, I had a similar experience with a Big Ugly BMW. I’m pleased to announce the outcome of that encounter mirrored yours.
