"I say Mrcycles.com doesn't have it. They ship in 3-7 business days, they need to get it from a warehouse/suppler. If one was available the other online parts suppliers (partzilla, etc.) would get it.

Only option I know of other than finding someone to sell you one they have, is to contact a Honda dealer and see if they
will put out a request by way of their network to see if by a rare chance a dealer some where has one sitting on the shelf gathering dust."

I have already inquired with Honda.
The answer was short.
This part is no longer in production
And so, I take it that you also inquired with MrCycles.com, and they said that not only are the parts no longer in production, but also, that they don't have any remaining inventory of the discontinued part? Got it. I should have known you had already checked with everyone in the Runiverse to see that no New Old Stock existed in inventory anywhere either. My bad!

"To clear up my earlier statement, I was not talking of Mother Honda.

I was talking of motorcycle shops that sell/service/repair Honda Motorcycles.

From time to time a motorcycle shop will order a part for a customer or one for a repair job
and later the customer may not want it or it's not required for the repair after all.
Instead of the shop returning the item, they shelf it, in time it becomes NOS.
An online parts supplier may also shelf/warehouse the return.
Problem is finding those NOS parts.

I've purchased a number of NOS parts over the years for the Rune that were no longer made
or are unavailable.

Good Luck with finding the part you need..."

What happened to the reservoir you currently have? Is it cracked? Repairable? This might be your only solution.

My beloved Rune had a slight leak from one of the cooling system hoses. The installers inflated the system under pressure and burst the tank.
Naturally I was informed that the failure was due to fatigue of the material from which the tank was made.
The tank is currently patched with PVC weld, but I know from experience that these are not reliable repairs.
The best repair is a quality repair, everything should be with original and new parts, this is a personal opinion.

I was told by the Honda dealership that this product is no longer being made, this is starting to worry me. Spare parts are increasingly difficult to find. There comes a time when, in order to keep my beloved bike, I have to wash it and it will remain as a beautiful jewel in my garage.
But I love riding this bike so much

I seem to remember Skip was parting out a Rune in 2010.

Skip, do you have a reservoir noted above for our friend in Bulgaria?

Hi Ollie;
Yes, I have a RuneWreck that I bought for parts. So far I have taken non essential (cosmetic) parts off and sold some, but I'm keeping the engine to rear hub assembly complete. I planned to make a reverse trike out of it, but that plan evaporated with time.
One day I expect to sell it as a running, drop in replacement.

If someone is interested in buying it complete, for whatever purpose, they should contact me...

"Just an idea, if you're unable to find one.

3d printing can be used to make an air tight/water tight containers such as canisters, or tanks.

See if a 3D service can make one using yours as the model.

Or if possible, a school that teaches or has classes on 3D printing and see if they will
make one as a student project."

"Thanks for the reply post, while not good for you, it's good to see the tank failure
was caused by an action someone did, and not a part failure due to time or being defective.

Where did the coolant leak end up being from? Thanks!"

I would echo the Gearheads suggestion. I haven't printed anything like a tank yet, but have investigated enough to know that - given the proper measurements from the existing reservoir, a 3d printed tank would be very doable.

Thank you, boys. And I thought the same with the 3d printer, although I am far from these technologies. I think the main problem will be the tank scanning because there are a lot of irregular shapes.

I am very grateful for the empathy and attention you have shown me.
Respect!!!

Hi ESS...
I just received a coolant overflow tank for my Rune... I ordered it because my Rune has been partially disassembled for quite some time and I didn't want to take a chance that I may need one for whenever I get it put back together.
So, all that out of the way... Try contacting < > ... this is where I got mine. Although the part was shown as not available, I went ahead and placed the order and it was available after all.
Good luck on your quest...

You must have been lucky. It won't let me buy because it's out of stock
Still, thank you from the bottom of my heart for the information shared.

I can remove the coolant overflow tank from my Rune and send it to you if you will pay shipping.
I noticed you are not in the USA, so sometimes international shipping will make me have a heart attack.
My Rune has approximately 3K miles and has been up on a shop stand for the last almost 14 years, so the tank has seen very little use. Let me know.

The address I will ask you to send it to is in the USA of a very close friend of mine. He will ship it to Bulgaria, so I won't have to worry about you and I won't have any problems with customs. Send me a bank account and write me the amount you need, once again thank you very much for the gesture
