Anyone who “Trikes” a Rune will befall the merciless wrath of God, immediately following the public flogging.

Well apparently we’re not all that funny.

The ribbing had no intent of malice.

I’m sorry you’ve had some bad luck and I hope you soon can get some bugs in your teeth.

Trike a Rune

Sorry to hear about your accident, and hope you heal well and quickly

I'd start with the companies that can trike a Gold Wing to start with.

Here are some links that Google gave me.

http://sig.gwrra.org/trike/ A gold wing trike special interest group

http://www.triwing.com/ A gold wing trike conversion company

http://sig.gwrra.org/trike/vendors/ww-trike.htm Article on triking a wing

http://www.tssgh.com/g/goldwing_trike_kits.html List of trike kits.

None of these mentioned the Rune specifically.

As an alternative if you can afford it, Boss Hogs seem to be a good trike ride.

Hope this helps

Trike a Rune

Sirdeadpirate,

Actually I think the majority of the Board members on this Board aren't considering triking their Rune, as mentioned by Chuck above and in the thread I referred to above.

One issue is to get the contact nodes to producers of trike kits in general for a certain bike, an other issue is to get communication and feedback from other people with the same interest and who have actually triked their bike.

About the last issue there is not much information for You on this Board, because as far as I'm informed from the Board no one has done it yet,and by You being the first to actually do it, You will be the first contributor to the Board with information on that issue.

My suggestion to You would be - as Kythyn also mentioned in his post - to find information and people else where, who have triked their bike, and that specific bike not being a Rune.

There is a "Sister Board" based on the Board members interest in the GW 1800, and they have a separate trike section on their Board for people sharing information etc. on trike related issues etc. - Perhaps You should look that out, too ...

$$$

If you do get some quotes on a conversion, please let us know what they're asking. It's got to be expensive. I'm curious if they will also match the fit and finish of the Rune. Naturally we'll all want to see pictures if you go through with it - Good luck!

Take a look here.....

I know they've done work in the US for people. Their work is top class and they also cater for riders with problems restricting them riding 2 wheels.
The city I live in has two of the main trike builders in the UK. They're always trying to out-do each other. The other trike builders are doing a Rune at the moment, I know because a friend of mine has commissioned it. I'll get you details if you wish. Good luck and keep riding.

UK Rune Trike (http://www.trikeshop.co.uk/ )

- Just GBP 28,000 ...

Runerod,

I think we're all curious about details, and perhaps even more pics of what has happened to the rear end of this Blue Rune ...

Hey UK Trikeshop ! If you're listening/reading. Sorry, have to give that
first try at a rune trike the :no1:
It looks like a Rune with training wheels and that's because you kept the bikes rear fender.
Loose the rear fender and make a two-up trike with a rear end that looks cool and compliments the front fender and gas tank.

trike fenders

The fender on the visible rear wheel doesn't match the original Rune fenders. It doesn't quite wrap the sides of the tire like it should. It looks just sort of slapped on the side. In fact, at first glance it looks like a Rune parked behind a trailer or something. Overall the design definately needs a lot of work. :?

I think the Rune is a very difficult bike to trike without distroying the overall concept. I agree that the trike shop effort falls well below the design standards of the original, and believe me you're seeing it's best angle in the shots (most people agree that they should have lost the rear fender).
The transcripts from the Rune project designers mention how much they loved the whole process and the effort they were happy to put in to it. In a rare move Honda gave them carte blance and they were able to put there hearts into every small detail. And that's hard to replicate.

I'll keep you guys posted on how my friends Rune turns out.
