water temp. light

Is there any way to tell if my water temp. light is burnt out or if it even works? I guess that when you turn on the ignition switch only some of the lights light up for a bulb check, but not the temp. light according to the owners manual. Also, does anyone make gages for the Rune like water temp. oil pressure or rpm's? Thanks :?
